i don't know squat about DVD's and am just in the market to add one to my home theatre. I have recently purchased a 50 in Mits. HDTV and am looking for a moderately priced unit that will show off the potential of the TV. VCR's look great on this unit, but I have been told that DVD will blow me away. Any suggestions as to starter units would be appreciated..thanks

Well, since you have a HDTV you may want to consider a progressive scan DVD player. They look great but cost a fair bit. Otherwise, I'd hate to say it but almost all of the mid-range DVD players look alike, sound alike and almost all have the same features. We'd need more information to help you pick... ie. what is your audio system like.
