I like this DVD player quite alot, and I'm just about to buy it. But before I buy I need to know if this player is if there is any way to have it playing more zones (i.e. hidden combinations on the remote!)

In order to play more zone you must to change the Eprom inside the player.
No other possibility.

I just bought the XV-D701 from JVC.
The company were I bought it has replaced the chip for an all regions free one.
It can only be done with this model from JVC.
