I just purchased a Sony 550D and was wondering how can I get the most out of it on my Sony 36 inch Wega. Some say use the component out, someone else mentioned some S-link. I have no idea what they are taking about, but I was planning on buying the appropriate cable today and am not sure what is the best way to link the DVD and TV together. Any help would be appreciated.

The best is Component.

There are three types:

RCA Composite: This carries the video signal through one RCA cable. Most VCRs use this connection format, which provides the least quality.

S-Video: Uses a cable with a round DIN port. This provides excellent sharpness and nearly the best color accuracy.

RCA Component: This method requires three high-quality RCA video cables. Do not buy an A/V cable, which has Video plus left/right audio, as the video and audio cables do NOT have the same properties. Using this provides the same sharpness as an S-Video cable, but many also find deeper, richer colors.
