Hi
I have a Pioneer DV717 multiregion player inputing a optical signal into a Yamaha RXV795.
Has any one else noticed that several DVDs just lately have a noticable amount of echo on the dialogue on the disc.
Wild Wild West and Entrapment being the last two i noticed.
All DSP settings are off and the poor quality vocals are also present when playing the disc in Pro-logic.
Is this a sign of a poorly recorded sound tracks?

Hmm, I've never noticed that before. Are you SURE all effects are turn off? Did you make sure your speakers are properly configured (distance from seating position, etc)? I've noticed background hiss on a lot of vocal tracks, but haven't seen echo before.
