Has anybody been successful in doing the play+power for a discrete off with the Toshiba HD-A2? It takes a while for the player to boot up, and every time I try to do that command with a URC RF20 remote it won't turn off because I suppose it won't turn off if it's booting up. Anybody done it before?

Assuming you have a delay between the play and power commands, have you tried to increase it? I have'nt programmed an A2 yet, but I remember the A1 took about 60-70 seconds before it would accept another command.(after powering on)

plug the power cord into the switched power out let on the back of your receiver, and do a stop command, and have a 2 second delay before you power off your receiver. Works like a charm. if the player is on it stops the disc etc. if its off nothing happens.

If you hook it up to a switched power outlet, then wont the dvd player reset back to default?
