I have read enough in this forum to thoroughly confuse myself now...hehehe

I have to Sony 400 DVD changers as part of my home theater set up downstairs in the living room. I want to be able to access those movies in other rooms, specifically the guest room down stairs and my bedroom (directly above the living room). I have a Yamaha MusicCast in the same system, and have "clients" in other rooms to listen to the music... I want the same basic thing with my movies.

I am tired of moving DVD's from the changes, to a single disc player in the room, etc. I have looked at several different products, but they use different terminology for things and I can't get a real read on their capabilities. Is there a product that I can upload all my movies to (723 total at this point) and be able to access them in different rooms. I don't mind having to buy a "client" for each room or something like that, along with a main server, but I am not sure what products will do this.

Thanks

yes you have 2 real options and about 50 dyi options.

keidescape and xperinet in that order. then you can do the dyi and just build a bunch of servers.....

i own an xperinet and cant live without it. i did not like the k'scape interface but the product is rock solid.

So if I am reading the K'scope correctly I would buy a server to house the movies, and then a "movie player" in each room I want to watch the movies? And they connect via cat5 lines?

sort of.... k'scpae is a very slick dvd server. you burn all your dvd's into the server, which is also a single player. then you can have multiple players connected to a lan in the home. works like a charm. then take your disks and put tem in storage somewhere.
