Why is it that sometimes, the volume control on my Sony STRDA50ES seems to pause the sound while it steps up to the next volume level while using the remote. Then other times it'f fine, it will increase/decrease without muting the sound!
Any ideas?

I'm not experiencing this with my 50ES receiver. You may wish to check for a short in the controls. Other than that I have not a clue.

Yes, this does indeed seem off. The sound should NOT be muted when adjusting the volume control, it should just... adjust.

Thanks for the reply.
Harlon-when you listen to DVDs step-by-step what do you turn-on first, select tv/video1-2-3, adjust mode etc.
By the way your POLKs sound amazing, a friend of mine has the same setup.
(My first POLKs were for my car, the award-winning
MM6900 6x9 way back in 198X something!)
