Ok I have read some different ideas, but am still not sure how to do this.

Can someone please explain to me (like I am 5 years old) how to hook a Sony DVP-CX985V and a DVP-CX995V to the same A/V system, and use a Pronto TSU-7000 to control them?

I am out of room in my 985v and want to add a new 400 player. I want to be able to play movies from either player on my plasma, without having to get up and switch anything.

They will both be hooked to the same receiver and plasma.

Thanks for any instructions.

Plug both sources to the receiver/plasma as you normally would.

Program one sony changer with command mode 1 and the other with command mode 2.

This will allow you to operate them without interfering with each other.

Refer to page 16 of your owners manual for the 995 changer and page 18 of the 985.

You can then use each remote to program the pronto unless you already have a file for the pronto for the different command modes.

You may want to expand your AV Input Jacks on your plasma by adding a IR component video switch.

I own a Zektor HDS4.1 Component Video Switch, and I use it to switch between my 3 DVP-CX985V changers. Being able to control the video switch via my remote makes it "priceless" (works flawlessly). The model I purchased recently had a price drop.

My TSU7500 PCF available via the link in my signature area below contains the IR codes for all 3 command modes. Each set of codes are grouped together on a single page and can be found in the "Pronto Signals" section of my PCF towards the bottom of the treeview.

My PCF also includes a device used to automate disc selection in addition to queuing up the rest of ones system in case you are interested. It takes only minutes to integrate this device into your own PCF. Once you've copied the device over to your PCF you simply link each of the buttons in the IR codes column of the setup page to the appropriate IR code buttons already in your PCF. You'll also need to add jump actions to each of the buttons in the page jumps column for your loading pages. From there you're ready to start linking DVD cover image buttons to the appropriate disc loading macro or disc confirmation link buttons.

For more information on all of this check out this post which gives a brief walk-through of my PCF. The section entitled, "DVD Juke (DLM)" towards the bottom of the post explains the above in more detail.

Ok so it arrived today. I have it all hooked up tot he received, plasma, etc. I am using a Niles IR repeater and got the changers both in the cabinet, and all is well.

How do I make one changer use command code 1 and the other command code 2? The 985 has a switch on the back, but not the 995?

You set the command mode for the 995 via the front panel following the steps below taken from page 16 of the manual.

1) If the changer is powered on press the POWER button turning it off.
2) Hold down ENTER on the changer and press the POWER button.

At this time the command mode appears on the front panel display.

3) Repeat steps 1 and 2 until the displayed command mode matches the one that you want.
