Has anyone else noticed how bad the new Superman DVD transfer is? False contours and video noise.

SD-DVD. It's terrible. I wonder if enough people complained if they would fix it and offer a replacement DVD.

Well, I guess the question is "how good is the original film". I seem to recall my *other* Superman SD DVD release is pretty bad...

I watched the SD version upscaled to 1080p on my HDTV and it looked fine to me. I bought the "special version" in the holographic slip case.

Do you think there would be any difference between the Special Version and the regular single disk version. I would think they would be the same transfer.

i've also had "my own" copy for awhile and it did strike me as poor quality. i found raising the black levels made a signifigant difference as it seemed very washed out.
has anyone seen it on HD-DVD or BD yet, how does that look?
