Is anyone shipping a changer that allows one to select a disc by displaying the jacket cover on the video monitor? I know there are expensive systems that interface to a changer and monitor but, I'd like this functionality to be integrated into the changer.

The current Sony 200 DVD Changer has a function called Disc Explorer which allows you to select the disc via a video monitor. The jacket cover will be displayed if the DVD has it. If not, a generic icon will be displayed.

However, I hate the Disc Explorer because it's slow. I have implement the disc selection into the Pronto which you can browse through your collection right from Pronto very fast and it does the job.

Simon,

I have to assume that you manually enter the disc selection info. into your Pronto manually. By the way, what info do you place into the Pronto and how many discs have you entered?

I entered the disc title manually into the Pronto (I only have about 40 discs in the player now but I did make the template so that I can put up to 200 titles in Pronto). Someone posted it he has a tool to help you enter disc/track titles automatically but I don't know how to use it. Others have tried to enter disc/track titles but it seems Pronto can only handle about 175 discs before it runs out of memory.

Do you have a Pronto? You can check out my CCF file and see what I have done. Give me comments too.

Simon,

I do have a Pronto and I'm interested in checking out your CCF. Please email it to me.

I still really want to be able to view the Jacket covers on my TV without purchasing an Eschon (sp?) for $3,000.
