OK...just read Daniel's review on this, and now I'm dying to know what the extra footage is! I already own the original DVD, so I'm not sure if it's worth buying the SE. (It HAS been added to my X-mas list, however!)

Is it considered a spoiler to give a little info on the extra footage?

Hmm, a little extra info... OK. The extra footage isn't merely contained in a scene or two, but is chopped up throughout the entire film. For instance, the beginning is quite different. There's a completely new scene. The discovery of the Stargate also includes the discovery of another item. More details are included that help explain why certain characters do things.

Is the Special Edition anamorphic widescreen?

Fun movie!

As mentioned in the review, no. But it still looks pretty good.
