Hi All,

Someone mentioned on here [Link: pauljbax.forumco.com] its a martial arts site. Well we were talking about ruined media, ie cds and dvds and someone mentioned cleaning them if they were flood damaged with "Warm water and mild soap" I said that was not good for them and I wouldnt do it BUT I aint 100% sure whether its safe or not, sooooo I thought who better to ask then you's all :-)

Is it safe to clean your discs this way?

cheers
john

Sure. You could probably wash them in the dishwasher if you could be sure they'd not fall through the rack to the bottom. And if you use phosphate-free soap.

I go simpler. I just run them under hot tap water and rub off any stubborn mess with a soft cloth.

I kid you not. It works wonders on scratches.
