I moved to the UK from the US, and imported my NTSC projector (Projectavision Solo2). My problem is that DVDs in Europe are PAL encoded. While my DVD player is capable of reading both PAL and NTSC DVDs, you can only purchase PAL DVDs in Europe.
So what can I do? Are there cheap PAL to NTSC converters? Any other option?

Are you sure your PJ can't do PAL? Most can.

Also, many players have built in PAL-NTSC converters, you could try switching to one. Look for "region free" players since you will have DVDs from two regions. Panasonic is notorious for NOT having built in PAL-NTSC converters, most others offer them even if they aren't listed in the standard spec sheets. The regions may be a bigger issue for you than the conversion, actually.

You could also still buy DVDs from the USA.
