I HAVE THE DIRECTV HD RECEIVER AND A DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA. LIVING IN THE BUFFALO AREA I HAVE SOME DIGITAL CHANNELS TO THE NORTH AND SOME TO THE SOUTH OF MY HOUSE. MY PROBLEM IS WHEN I RUN A SCAN FOR DIGITAL CHANNELS THE RECEIVER ONLY PICKS UP THE NORTH CHANNELS AND NOT THE SOUTH CHANNELS DUE TO MY ANTENNA POINTING NORTH. THE RECEIVER DOES NOT HAVE A SINGLE CHANNEL SCAN FEATURE LIKE THE ONE FROM DISH NETWORK HAS.SO BASICALLY EVERY TIME I WANT TO WATCH A CHANNEL FROM THE SOUTH I HAVE TO RE-RUN THE SCAN FEATURE TO SAVE THOSE CHANNELS .I TALKED TO DIRECTV ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THE "TECH" GUY SAID GO TO ANTENNAWEB.ORG.SO IN OTHERS WORDS HE COULD NOT ANSWER MY QUESTION AND DID NOT KNOW OF ANY SOFTWARE UPDATES FIXING THIS PROBLEM.HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS ISSUE YET?IF SO, HOW DO YOU GET AROUND HAVING TO RUN THE SCAN EVERY TIME YOU CHANGE CHANNELS FROM A NORTHERN TO A SOUTHERN TRANSMITTER?? THANKS FOR ANY HELP ON THIS ONE!

TURN THE CAPS LOCK OFF. IT MAKES FOR VERY HARD READING........
You can try to add the channels manually. May or may not work. You could get yourself a second antenna and point it south. Depending on what type of antenna you have you would use a combiner or piece of 300 ohm cable.
