hi there, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I can play a DVD purchased in Australia here in North America? I've heard that you can download a utility off the internet and convert the discs.... anyone know of a good one for macintosh user? Any help would be great, thanks.

You need to get a region-free DVD player. The only thing I can think of being suggested previously is copying the DVD without the region encoding. Not sure about the laws in Canada, but here in the US, it is currently illegal. (For those of you who are about to flame me, I DO NOT agree with the law yet it IS the law currently.)

Look up your player at videohelp.com in the DVD Hack section. See if there is an easy way to make it region free. You can't convert a disc, they're read-only.
