Anybody know what is the most reasonable player that has DVD Audio, Super Audio CD and also Upscales??

I'm Looking at the Denon 2910 but it's a little out of my price range.

Thanks,

Beau

We have the new Samsung DVDHD850 for under $150.00. This unit even has HDMI.

I can get Samsung through distribution...would get the 950 anyhow if I did go that route. The problem as I understand it with the Samsungs is that they have totally shi*%y black reproduction.

Any other suggestions?

So what I'm hearing you say is not only do you want the features, but you want the quality of a higher end machine while not paying for that higher end machine. I'd encourage you to choose - quality or price - and then pursue it.

Samsung 841 does do everything you want but it has DVI rather than HDMI. A HDMI --> DVI adapter is about 20-30 bucks. The 841 can also be found at Costco for $99 nowadays.

Samsung 850 has HDMI and upconverts but loses the SACD/DVD-A capabilities that you seek.

Both can be made to upconvert via component outputs and region-free via remote control enabled codes.

I own both on 2 seperate plasmas and have no complaints about them .. especially for the sub $150 price tag.

Samsung hooked up via DVI = service calls, not worth the trouble IMHO and previous experiences.
