Has anyone else had a problem with yamaha dvd player remotes learing onto universal remotes? the transport buttons will only work once for me...like the right button. i hit it once, it works, keep hitting it, it wont work anymore. almost like it uses some cycle that a universal doesn't learn. I don't have problems with a sony 3100 but i do with my mx500 (which i actually DO like) It seems like the sony waits on learing and gets the whole thing but the mx500 tries too fast and quits to early. (the sony won't learn it right either if you don't hold down the yamaha button when it's learning)

any ideas of how to ge the code on the mx500? (i've already tried off the sony)

Yup. Give us a clue.

What model(s) Yamahas are you having trouble with? They have more than one protocol and I have run into some weird problems myself. All are solved now, and it did not turn out to be anything strange at all, just poorly learned codes.

Actually, if your email is in your profile, a few ccfs will be on their way to you. To get the codes, download Marantz Touch Screen Setup, edit the ccfs, and copy and paste the hex code into your program. There is a thread in the Pronto forum about where the Marantz program can be found on their site. This is their older software, and they have removed links to it from their site so you can't get to it from the home page. Look for the thread about "marantz legacy software."
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
