Hi
I tried playing "The Eagles - Hell Freezes Over" DTS DVD on the Pioneer 515 player, but all I got is hissing sound instead of music. Does anyone experience the same problem? Have I got the connection wrong? I am using the Proceed PAV/DSD processor with the Pioneer.

Are you certain that your Pioneer 515 has a
DTS out feature? you alos must connect either
a optical cable or a coaxial cable from your DVD
player to your receiver or processor.

According to the manual, this player can output DTS. I have tried connecting both a optical and coaxial cable, but neither produces any sound except for hisses.

Perhap you need to go to your menu and turn on the dts output of your dvd player. This is done by going to your menu before putting a disc into the player, then you'll find out. I suggest read the dts section from your DVD player owner manual.

I own the Pioneer 515 and it is not will not play DTS. It is a early model, I did not know any better when I purchased it and now I have to go back and buy another unit that will play DTS DVD's. I am looking at the Pioneer DV-05 unit. Anybody have any thoughts on the DV-05
