Hi guys,
I finally figured it out. had I taken the time to read the instructions booklet I would have come to know that when you first initialize the disk even a dvd rw the recorder must first be set to video mode which makes it most compatible with all other dvd players. and since the recorder was set to VR mode which is the most editable mode and least compatible with other players. Like Homer would say D'ho
