Yep. Full story at ZDnet. News media are thinking that the studios are going to freak. I don't think so. People have always been able to dupe VHS tapes, so now they can do it with DVD, big deal. There are logistical problems that will keep this from being soemthing that consumers do (storage, time, etc) because most people can get a DVD for less than $20.

The real problem will probably come from foreign countries whose legal system does not protect the IP rights of people outside that country (bootleggers.) These are the people that could but a finacial hurt on the studios, if they can figure out a solid distribution cahnnel.

What's funny about "only 60k"? If you think about it, all a good copy program has to do is open a source, open a destination, read a bit, write a bit.... over and over and over again.... at the end?, close the source, close the destination.

Most programs are byte hogs. It's probably not Microsoft's fault, but they set a bad example. Whatever happened to "Nice, Tight Code"?

Just ranting. Ignore me.
