Has anyone used the sony dual layer dvd recorder yet, how well does it work, is the software good, can you make straight duplicates of menu systems etc. or do you have to create all that stuff like some of the others?

Any other ideas or products that can be used to dub dual layer dvd's specificly tv season stuff?

thanks in advance.

I just picked one up... was supposed to go into an old computer for a relative, but have since figured out that it's a lot faster than my TDK 4X so will probably swap. :-)

Daniel,

Have you found blank dual layer dvd's for less than $6?

And can you make exact duplicates of dvd's, no compression, same menus, extras etc?

1) Not around where I am - about $7 is cheapest. I expect it to fall quickly.

2) No idea, I don't get into that sort of thing. But it's all about how much space you have, right?

$6, $7 dollars!!! I haven't found any under $12 to $15 Ea.- $29 for 3 - yet!!!

Bought a new 16x DVD burner ( w/DL) a few weeks ago, but no DL media affordable yet and "very little" available. Will stay tuned.

For people who don't like getting screwed out of their money... After all these years One-for-All remotes still SUCK... Their Kameleon won't even see the awsome SONY DDW-740 a/v digital audio receiver.
