Hi,

While watching DVD, the video freezes for 2 seconds or even longer. I use Power DVD 5 to watch DVD movies.(I tried to watch with Windows media player, it is the same problem). Earlier I had no similar problems (watched dozens of DVD movies on my PC).
So this is not because of lacking memory. The problem hides somewhere else.(My specs 512 RAM, Geforce FX 5900 128 MB, Barton 2500.)
There are no viruses in my PC.
I even unchecked all the items in my msconfig startup, did not help.
The same problem occurs on 3 different DVDs.

Do the DVDs play fine in other decks? (maybe a friends if you don't have a stand-a-lone).

The first thing I would suggest is cleaning the DVD. I had the same problem with some DVD's fresh out of the boxes. I now keep a CD/DVD cleaning cloth next to my player, and clean (wipe off) every DVD I buy. Haven't had a problem sense.

Don't know if my player is extra sensative to dust or what, but my solution is cheap and it worked for me.

I returned DVD-ROM to the retailer for the repair or change with the new one. Thanks.
