I just got a surround sound system for my house and would like to purchase some great DVDs (older and newer releases) that will utilize and project the benefits of the system.....THX/DTS/Dolby 7.1, etc.
Any suggestions? Thx!

"Pearl Harbor" will impress your friends (chapter 22) and "Finding Nemo" Will impress those that do not like violent war scenes.

Yellow Submarine, if you're a Beatles fan. The remix is most remarkable.

For music, The Eagles' Hell Freezes Over and James Taylor Live at the Beacon.

Kill Bill, Vo. 1 is a good new one. Also, almost any Pixar animated movie.

I used to use Chap 22 in Pearl Harbor to demo systems to people all the time!

Sometimes though you get a a customer who's been in the war or who is sensetive to violence. That's when Nemo works well.

"Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World" will definately put your surround through it's paces.

It's one of the best surround tracks I have heard in some time.

Das Boot is great unless you have claustrophobia!

The depth-charging sequence from U-571, or the White-House laser-zorching from Independence Day are my favorites for demoing a new rig..

Have fun,

We use the first scene from "Gladiator" to show-off our system.
