Pardon my ignorance, but none of the DVD recorders on the market will copy a rented DVD correct?
There's copy protection right?

Correct, for the most part. It is called Macrovision, yoiu cant record from rented vhs to vhs either. I'm sure there are some devices out there that will let you record.

There is the option of DVD-Xcopy, which requires a computer with a DVD-R or DVD-RW drive. Larry www.fineelectricco.com
