Sorry I can't help but am in the same fix. Just bought that Sony DVD/VCR as I have a Sony remote commander RM-AV2100B and figured it would be a no brainer. This unit will not work with my universal remote. Sony is no help. Talked to the correct Sony department for this DVD/VCR and he sent me to the remote commander800# which was a voice recognition system and no help. Very discouraging that Sony equipment won't work with other Sony equipment
