Okay. I found the manual online, and it says that auto-play is defeatable. Go here and then enter the model no: DVP-CX985V, then select 'primary operation manual' (or whatever it was).

Still, does anyone know if any other manufacturers are bringing out any new DVD changers we should wait to see, or is this one the one to get right now (if cost matters)?

still no answer, huh ...
i love looking at my shelves full of dvds - but - as 600 is nearing a changer may be needed.
