Has anyone else with a Sony DVD mega changer ever had it take a DVD its currently playing, and have it move it, and even move other DVD's as well? Mine has several times move a DVD to an open spot, or moved several DVD's, basically mixing them up.

While I'm on the topic of quirks, I also had lots of problems with "Disc Dirty" messages with brand new DVD's, but usually on Power Up. I have now begun to leave it on all the time, and that problem has seemed to go away. Anyone else with this issue?

Basically I'm trying to see if mine is faulty, or if this is a design flaw. Another flaw...check your "Surround" button on the front, above the display and see if it is spelled "Sorrond". Mine is! I also had a sony remote that had sound field spelled feild. Apparently Sony doesn't use spell check!

Thanks.

When you say "known issue" is there someplace on Sony's site or another site that discloses this problem and offers suggestions about dealing with it?

Mine is starting to do the same thing....just sits there and shuffles back and forth. Eventually it finds it's place.

With the 870 and 875, if the player loses power fully (not just sleep mode offness) of if it "crashes" from a dirty disc, etc, it will scan the player and put the disc in the player in the first open slot. That can lead to all sorts of chaos with a full changer. Disc 176 winding up in slot 58 is a real drag, checking 1-57 before you find it in 58... My 870 does this alot and I am seriously looking at the 985, hoping that perhaps some of this funkiness is alleviated.
