Hi guys... need desperate help - I have a SOny DvpS550D player which has treated me fairly well thus far as a $500 dvd player should! I've only ever had 1 problem with it - and it happened again... The stand by light is on, but it will not power on or play. Last time this happened it "just came on" one day and I thought it was a strange fluke. Now... who knows. I tried unpluggin it for a few... nothing. I checked online for help and I didn't find much of anything. Anyone ever hear of this or have any help they might be able to offer? Otherwise the new Sony progressive it is... but not until I know this one is dead. :) Thx

Open the unit up and if there are any glass fueses gone some times thats all thats gone .

Dude.. Ur the man! Bingo... that thing is long off warranty - so why not look at it myself?!?!? That is what it was, I checked the connection on the power plug connection, and looked at a nearby fuse - needed to be changed. Simple enuff - thanks for the help and motivation to get in there myself. Got the fuse at the local - fixed, up & running!
