No, I own AH-D750 PQ 30 Ohm low impedance headphones, the build quality is there from www.denon.com

They are really comfortable for hours, headwize member recommended. I hope this helps.

P.S. I have a $51,000+ home theater set up which includes 771 Discs R1, 1 R2, and 1 R4 @$25=$19,325. 600 CDs @$20 =$12,000 total for just discs $31,325 plus shipping for pieces of plastic!

Wow, 51 G's.....that's a lot of money for a home theater system. 771 DVD's.....wow. I have like 40, but I also have 2200 CD's. And I didn't pay shipping for those. But I AM curious....where you buy CD's for 20 bucks each?

Hmmm..... It' may just be me, but I kinda brag about how little I paid for my system, considering the sound quality. (as I've admitted before, my video display is my weak link right now).

I haven't paid full retail for anything in my system, other than cables and accessories. Some used, some eBay, some discounted, but all selected by (my perception of) value.

I'm now over 100 DVDs, which I know is a small library, but I'm sure it will grow with time. As much as I love movies, I don't want to accumulate them just for the sheer numbers.

And...anyone who pays $25 for every DVD and $20 for every CD needs to buy them somewhere else, I may have paid $25 for maybe 4 of my DVD's, you can get them for a lot cheaper than that. If you read the other posts that Switchy wrote in, he likes to brag a lot.

And he wants you to buy BetterCables. Which seem to only be available from....www,bettercables,com...(didn't want it to be a link to their website)..why doesn't anyone else sell them? If they're that much better....where's the scientific proof? Oh, there is none? That's what I thought, sit down.

So, anyway, the 1600 is apparently a very good player. Based on a Panasonic so there is no chroma bug and including DVD-A, it is tops in many categories.

Wonderful that only one person actually answered the original question. :)

I'll toss in my two cents to say that the Denon 1600 is a very nice machine for the price with all the features it has. Video quality is excellent, as the unit is based of the Panasonic RP82 transport I believe, so, as mentioned, no chroma issues. DVD-Audio discs output quite nicely, and the unit will play VCD CDR's which is a major plus. I upgraded from a Panasonic RV-30 which I had purchased long ago and noticed an immediate improvement in both picture and sound. Even running sound through the same equipment, it seems to produce a much richer field from my speakers.

Of course, if you're not interested in the DVD-A ability, then don't bother with this player, as you can get progressive scan units of similar video quality for about 2/3rds of its price. But if you want DVD-A and all the rest, it's well worth it.

Edit: Anyone happen to have a CCF file for this unit? I'm having problems getting my TSU2000 to learn IR codes from the included remote.
