I read in another forum a claim that Yamaha DVD players are "re-packaged" Panasonic products. Do you know if this is true?

It's not uncommon for some companies to "out source" the innards of some of their components and simply slap on a front fascia that blends in with the rest of their component line up, especially in the consumer electronics industry.
