I called sony they said no but there must be a way. If I could get a remote to control one at a time that would help. If I turn one off and hit the play button on the remote the other one turns on. I love these units but I only need one on at a time.

Well you could X10 power swtch them, use two aplliance modules on different addresses and power each one on as you need them, they use discreet codes for Pronto's etc so each can be addressed individually.
Assuming or course you have a pronto or similar.
Maybe, an AV switch would do the same, each would be playing but your only listening to one of them.

try an ir router. it allows you to connect multiple identical components and through programming of an ir remote, you can access each one individually.
