I am putting together my home theater equipment.
I am purchasing the new Runco VX-1000c for my
projector.
I would appreciate recommendations. My criteria:
0.) Primarily for movie watching
1.) Performance - best picture and sound
2.) Ability to control with universal remotes
I've been told that with the scalar that comes
with the projector that I don't need a progressive
scan DVD, is this true?
While I am unsure of the quality of the scaler that the Runco has I *am* sure of one thing. The fewer conversions of the signal from the source to the output the better the display on your projector will be.
Ergo, by purchasing a *good* progressive scan DVD player such as a Panny RP91 or a JVC XV series with a good progressive output you recieve the "purest" output for your projector. Together with good quality cables you'll likely get a better picture than having the projector doing the upconversion
(and if this sounds like I'm hedging, blame my training as a paralegal, CYA is the rule, not the exception ;D)
