Not sure if this group can help me. I have 2 Rraycom (yes, 2 r's) CCTV systems and 2 remotes with "StandAlone DVR" on the front. The remotes controlled which camera I was viewing, for years. One day they suddenly did not change cameras. Neither would control either system. I put in fresh batteries, and no change. I press the "ADD" button and a box appeared on screen with "remote Address" at the top and a smaller box inside that accepts numbers. At the bottom it says "OK" "Cancel". I have no information about addresses for either the remote or the system box. Any ideas how to reprogram/code these again? The fact that I get the box when pressing "ADD" indicates that the remote is working, but not "coded" to the receiver.

Would appreciate any ideas to help.

Use a phone/pad camera that responds to IR and confirm that all of the remote’s buttons are working.

Good chance that IR remote will not work those DVRs anymore. I've seen this happen with cheap CCTV products before; where the DVRs did a firmware update and it killed the IR remote functionality (i.e. they took that functionality away with the firmware update).
Not sure if this is the case with your systems, but it's a good bet.
Looking over their website, it doesn't appear they offer much in the way of support. Or anyway to manual update firmware or reinstall older firmware.

Thanks. Makes sense, since both quit overnight. Guess I'll just buy two more and start over. These both still deliver good pictures, but I have to wait while it scrolls itself instead of sellecting the camera I want. Everything made has so many bells and whistles that I can't figure out how to turn them on. i just want to monitor the cameras and select which one I want . Don't need the rest. Kinda "computer stupid". Still trying to figure out how to work a rotary dial phone (yeah, I'm THAT OLD!)

Would that happen even if the DVRs are NOT connected to the net? Or do they just "age out" by reprogramming? If I can make these work again, great or just buy 2 more. All I do is watch the cameras to keep track of my dogs.

It depends on the system. Most professional CCTV systems only need to be connected to the internet for remote viewing. If you are only wanting to view the cameras on your local network, then they don't need to be connected to the internet.

In the case of this 'Rraycom' system, I have no idea. Until you posted I had never heard of this brand before. Installing CCTV systems in one of the things I do for a living. It looks like dozens of other cheap Chinese systems, that all get stamped out of the same factory.

For your control issues = Rather than use the remote that came with the DVR, you could get a wireless mouse and control it like that. A Logitech M185 wireless mouse is only $15 on Amazon.com. The mouse will give you more control over the interface than the remote control was giving you as well. Just plug the dongle that comes with the mouse into a USB port on the DVR and it should just work.

Thanks. Yeah, this is a cheap system, but just what I want. I have 2, giving me 16 cameras. I want to be able to sit in my recliner and switch among cameras. I a wireless mouse on my laptop. I think I can try that. I am 8 to ten feet away, so that might be a problem. Good idea though. I hadn't thought of that .
