Hi all,

I am trying to figure out a way to modify a hex code for volume control of a Anthem AVM70 processor but dont know how.

I am programming a URC MX990 remote for it but the volume commands are going way too fast on a press and hold command. Like if you press and hold the volume up button it will blast through from -90 to +10db in a second which makes volume control very difficult to impossible.

This is with the codes from URC in there code database and the hex codes from Anthem.

Trying to learn the codes from the remote only work for a single press. press and hold wont work with the device.

Here is the hex code from Anthem that i was hoping to edit somehow to slow down the rate the volume increases.

The signals given are NEC1: {D=133,S=106,F=159} and NEC1: {D=133,S=106,F=158}. perfectly "to the book". These consist of an intro signal, containing the data, then the repeat is just a dumb "ditto", consisting of two impulses. It repeats every 108 ms, so

if you press and hold the volume up button it will blast through from -90 to +10db in a second

means that every send is increasing the volume by 10dB, which sound fairly implausible (or rather silly :-)). Possibly there is a parameter somewhere? (Tech support...)

To literally answer your question, the fifth last number is the duration (in multiples of the modulation frequency) between the intro and the first ditto, and the last number the duration between the dittos. So these are the number you should be manipulating. However, for reasons given before, I severely doubt that it will be the solution you are looking for. There is also a possibility that the device will reject the modified signal.

The 10dB step size is nasty. If modifying the codes is not productive, you could convert the Volume buttons macros that insert an actual delay or some nonsense commands that will slow the repeats.

Ah ok. Well the step size is 0.5db. It just zooms through them so fast you cant stop where you would like it too. Say for example the volume is currently at -40db and you wanted to increase the volume to -35db you end up over shooting 20db because it goes so fast.

Try this. In CCP click on the Volume up button, click on Macro, click twice on the command and adjust the number of repeats there.

Yeah i tried that. It doesn't do anything for a press and hold command unfortunately.
