I have a GooDee projector. I suspect it's something fairly new from China and I doubt it has an ir code available.

The other day, I was using my tuner remote and pressed the '0' button. The projector zoomed out. This is not something that the remote can do, but apparently, the projector itself will do it with the right code blasted at it.

Without any ir codes to use, is there a way to figure out what each function might be and program that into a universal remote?

It's probably using NEC codes or something close to it. A lot of random Chinese devices have very poor IR filtering and will respond to a lot of other devices incorrectly. For example, some Roku IR codes cause my Chinese LED light controller to dim and brighten, but the light controller's remote does nothing to the Roku.

But, that does mean there are legitimate codes for those functions built-in. But you'd need to be able to get the codes learned and posted in Pronto Hex format for anyone to be able to generate test files.

I can confirm that, if it's the same remote, it's NEC.
