Are there discrete codes for selecting the wide mode on Sony RP TVs? I.e. Wide Full, Normal, Full, Zoom?
Hopefully??? :)

Daniel,
Has this been confirmed by Sony? I find this hard to believe.

I noticed in my service manual that these sets can get software upgrades from a Sony "memory stick".
So how do we request some nice person from Sony give us an update to the software that allows discrete IR access to all the zoom & pic modes?
Does anybody have a friend at Sony?

For my Sony 53" widescreen TV I found that device code 164, function 49 switches to Normal Wide and function 66 switches to Wide Zoom. Haven't found the codes yet for Normal and Full.

What exactly do you mean by device code 164, function 49? I'm trying to find the discrete code for my 32FQ75 on the Pronto.

I have a Sony KD-34XBR2 (HDTV) and I was able to find all the codes I needed between the following 2 files in the Sony Television section of this web site:
son-tv-generic.zip son-tv-kw34hd1.zip
Specifically the codes for Normal & Wide came from the kw34hd1 and the commands for Zoom & Full can be created as macros (Zoom = Normal + Full; Full = Normal + Full) in order to get the desired known state from these toggles.
I hope this helps you
