I have a fairly new Sony VHS VCR, a SLV-N81 I wanted to find descrete ON/OFF IR Codes so I tried the VCR1/2/3 codes in the download area but they didn't work. I figured they wouldn't work because when I first got this new VCR I tried the remote from my old Sony VCR. My old remote is switchable to VCR 1 2 or 3 and none would work on the new VCR.
Is anyone familiar with this? Did sony change the remote codes for it's VHS VCRs? Anyone have the new descrete ON/OFF codes?
Thanks

I just decoded an SLV-N81 with ccf2efc in the component download files (james-seto_ccf.zip). It has identical device numbers and commands to every other Sony VCR1 that I have ever seen. I would suspect that you have a different problem.

Thanks for the reply. You might be correct about the SLV-N81 having the same codes as older units(VCR1). I found a thread in the PDA forum that tells me the Pronto Codes don't always work correctly with OmniRemote and OR Desktop. Particularly with Sony codes. I found some descrete codes for Sony VCRs in the OR Desktop native format. I'll try them out tonight.
EDIT: Those other descrete codes worked. The problem is the way OR Desktop translates Pronto Hex Codes.
