A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything. "The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- G. “Bernie” Shaw |

And did anyone notice he said? "I tried hooking up a different SAT receiver and all transponders came in, odd and even."
Which TOLD him right there, what was wrong! That he had a bad receiver. Yet a lot of people said he had another problem.

No, it's not necessarily bad receiver. Maybe the other receiver needed a hard reset, or possible the center conductor was corroded a bit and taking it out and plugging it back in corrected the problem.
The easy solution is to always simply replace the receiver, but also usually not the problem.
