i have a door that covers my tv when its not on. it works by a rf remote control but also has a 12 volt trigger switch. im looking for something that might sense a video signal from my amp and in return send out a 12 volt signal to activate the door when the tv would be used.

Sonance has a VT-1 that will send out 12volt when video is detected. You may want to make sure your amp (receiver) does not output video (not even a blue screen) when a non-video source is selected, or use your TV's monitor out if it has one. [Link: sonance.com]

You could also use the switched outlet on the back of your receiver to trigger 12 volts(plug a wall wart into the switched outlet).

Dave, I was wondering if the door you are talking is an ELLO entertainment center?? If so I have tried to use the 12v trigger and was not successful. DannyFresh@aol.com
