After 2 days of googling I've ended up here so hope I'm in the right place.
In a nutshell I'm someone else who acquired a URC system when they bought their house and now finding it hard to get any assistance with it. I love the functionality of the system but due to losing 3 channels on the DMS-AV amp it's time to upgrade.
...I have Accelerator 2 and while far from an expert confident I could program in a new amp but the Denon I've been looking at isn't in the database and I'm kind of stuck, also, the matrix, the Wyrestorm transmitter and receiver is limited to 1080p so know they just need need updating to 4K.
So my questions are.
1. Can I use an older model of the amp I'm looking at (Denon AVC-X3800H) in the database, are the ir commands similar or identical for most recent models?
2. As the Denon has 3 hdmi outputs can I remove the matrix from the system altogether as I only have 3 zones that have TVs in them anyway, two of which use a Wyrestorm tx 7 rx.
older codes will work, just use a similar model number and you'll be fine. try to use the drivers listed at the top that are in bold face lettering, they've been (somewhat) configured properly as AVR drivers.
i'd leave the matrix in there. trying to use the hdmi outputs of an AVR is usually more trouble than it's worth.

Thanks for that, I'll have a play over the weekend then and get the amp ordered. It would be nice to remove or replace the matrix though as it's a bottleneck to 4K, but I'm on a budget here so it can stay for now then.
the Denon may have 3 HDMI Outputs, but it only has 2 ZOnes of video. so unles you are OK with2 room mirroring each other, it wont do what you need.
My real world use is that the living room and the kitchen would usually be on together when I'm cooking tea etc so could live with that. Just in Accelerator now trying to figure out the macros. Stuck here at the "stream select", as I've removed the DMS-AV it's defaulted to DMS-1200 zone 1 where as before it was DMS-AV zone 1, DMS-1200 zone 1 is the kitchen. Should I just add a device power macro for the Denon here?
there's a reason this is dealer only software. it isn't easy to just pick up and learn how to make things work. it really requires the factory training. if you were doing the system from scratch, it might not be so bad, but it takes someone that knows the software inside and out to edit someone else's project without making a mess of things. The DMS and Matrix in this file will really confuse things if not done right.
i'd suggest that you save a copy of the original file as a backup and work from another copy. If you have things configured correctly in the inputs and outputs section, you can re-accelerate using the erase option and it should fix all your macros automatically.
In order to be using "that" software, he would have to be registered as a dealer. We both know TC isn't like CCP in the requirements.
Which may mean they haven't bothered to take "ALL" the training courses on TC. As long as they took the main course and past the test, they are in. Doesn't matter if they took the dozens of follow up courses or not. As long as they can meet those annual sales numbers, they are allowed to use it.
It's one of the reasons I don't even sell TC anymore. I don't have the clients for it anymore and after a few years of barely using it.... it's easy to get lost in the software. I would need to go back thru all the training courses myself.

I guess it's like anything, like the DMS-AV for example, I've had it apart to see if I can see anything obvious near the channel outputs that no longer work whereas the next man possibly wouldn't dream of taking a screwdriver to investigate. It's clear to see why you would need training on this software but if you've got the aptitude for stuff like this I'd say it is kind of easy to figure out the basics.
I've got a backup to hand and one on external, had a real fright yesterday after finding and messing with Accelerator 3 yesterday but that's a whole other story lol. Been tinkering and editing the original and I'll look at making one from scratch, got a few pointers from here that I think solved one issue I was having whilst editing...
So.... you are not a dealer??? How the hell are you able to use the software then? You have to have a dealer restricted account in order to login and use that software (it's not like CCP). Even dealers that are setup with URC can't access TC without special authorization. WTF?

CCP requires a login
Yes. But consumers can get a login as well in some cases. Not the same with TC, you have to be a dealer that is authorized for TC in order to get a login. This requires the training, a $$$ amount of buy-in, and an annual commitment - as you well know, since you also were a TC dealer at one time.
I just went and looked and noticed something. My software says "Accelerator 3 - Level 2". I remember they came out with a watered down Accelerator "Accelerator lite" ??? Could it be that is Accelerator 3 - Level 1 ??? And that has now been made available without special permissions? I don't know. But surely that is still dealer restricted? How are they using it without a dealer account?
[edit] Just to be clear, I'm not salty at dng78hd. At most I'm salty at URC because they make dealers jump thru all these f^n hoops and force us to spend money - and then give the same crap away to any & everyone. My suspicion is the original poster is posing as a dealer to URC and has dealer access. Looking at the list of equipment, they probably ordered (at dealer cost) enough stuff to get approved for TC. The rest of the requirements... who knows.
[edit again] But then if they have dealer access, why would they be learning things from YouTube videos, when they have all the dealer training material on the dealer site. I have no idea what's going on.

They said they are using Accelerator 3.0.

He said he bought his house that came with the system. Perhaps there is a cracked version? Perhaps the previous owners dealer gave them a login that was passed to the OP when they bought the house. Who knows. URC has always been shady and I cut ties not because I had enough, it because they cut my dealership off after my numbers dropped which only happened cause I had so many issues with both hardware and software bugs, that I couldn't keep pumping their crap into clients houses. As a one man show, 95% of my issues were from URC and I couldn't keep up with the trouble calls. Failed amps, processors, remotes failing, they just kept adding up. Final straw to stop selling until they ironed stuff out was a job where all video control just shit the bed. 14 tvs, on a Friday, huge party that client hosts for the town the following day, in which they display content to the tvs via JAP. Multiple calls to TS with no resolution. I was there all day, 10 hours. Finally called one last time, which was my 4th call if I remember correctly and the tech immediately knew the issue, was a bug in the firmware, and sent a beta copy of accelerator that immediately fixed the issue. So after all the hardware failures and everything, this was the straw that broke the camels back. The fact every TS agent wasn't made aware of this, incredible. I made the decision to stop adding urc in new systems until they fixed these issues, and then during the pandemic, they decided to cut me off due to this, so F em.
