Or SiriusXM for business. I think you get a nice $$ check for it.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

It is certainly not illegal to install a sonos in a bar.

I ALWAYS advice clients to only use services that are licensed for business/Public Listening use.

If they choose not to, thats on them.

No. Spotify does NOT have public use accounts (business accounts).

Sonos now has a “Professional” version that can be used in restaurants, etc. and can be remotely managed.

Does the professional work off the same application on the users phone? Or is there a separate app for that? Does it look the same between the two if there are, indeed, separate apps?

Simply having "professional" in the name doesn't mean that royalties will be paid to ascap/bmi/sesac. If they are going to services made for commercial installations, there may be different providers than consumer...

It’s essentially the same controller for end users with an added cloud client for the system administrator. The administrator can set schedules, playlists, and such. Multiple sites are controllable by the administrator. There are monthly site fees that take care of royalties for at least some services. I’m not sure if your own ripped CD’s would be covered.

SONOS is a device! How could it possibly be "against the law" to install this anywhere.

SERVICE!!!! It is the service that is played over any device in a business that may or may not be illegal due to copyrights & royalties.

Playing content of any type in a bar or restaurant is considered to be a “public performance” that must be licensed. Here are some details.
