All,

Anyone seeing issues with Spectrum boxes, Samsung TVs and Yamaha/Marantz receivers. We've had a few jobs in a row now where the picture isn't coming up intermittently. These seem to be HDCP-related but we aren't sure yet.

AVRs are on HDCP 1.4
New Binary HDMI cables (no extenders)
Newer to new Samsung TVs
All CEC nonsense off
We've messed around with the power timing for our macros (TV on first...receiver on first...etc.)

It does seem like going to another source and then back to Spectrum fixes the problems but we're still awaiting if this has fixed all of the associated jobs.

We didn't see any of these issues in the past and we've had a few on a row now with these newer AVRs. Anyone else experiencing similar problems?

Thanks in advance

Have you bypassed the AVR, yet?

I’ve seen a recurring issue on a Marantz NR1710 where it will randomly stop producing an image for a specific HDMI source (but not all sources at the same time). Rebooting the TV or source does nothing, but rebooting the receiver solves it.

We have issues with Spectrum boxes directly connected to frames. Either a blank screen or HDCP warning. Pulling power from the cable box and plugging back in resolves.

Are you setting the AVRs to do video processing? I don't think I've changed any of those settings in a couple years (I do that on sources sometimes now, but not AVRs). Why down to 1.4? To match the cable box output? If we're talking about 1.4, you might as well try a 2-way hdmi splitter.

Could you switch to Ethereal or AV Pro for cables?
