I have a Samsung 8K (QN85Q900TSF) that has been working fine with an emitter on it until recently.
His original Samsung rf remote works. I tried a few factory Samsung TV IR remotes and some different ir codes from my URC library.
Also changed the emitter, nothing ir seems to be working on this TV now.
Unplugged the TV for 10 mins as well.
I can't find anything in the menus regarding ir commands.
The cec is on, tried turning it off- no luck.
Any ideas how to fix would be great.

I don’t have an answer for you but one thing I started doing is carrying an older IR only Samsung remote with me to test IR.

You may (if you haven’t already) want to try factory reset of the Samsung TV.

You can also try turning off bluetooth on the TV itself.

the urc IP control module works pretty well. (even over wifi)

you could try that if the IR on the TV is defective.

I've seen this a few times over the years with Samsung TV's

The board that holds the IR pickup in the TV (inside of the samsung logo bump-out) needed to be replaced.

Disconnect all HDMI cable and then try, we have seen noise on the HDMI feeds cause this.

I can’t find a “local shop”. Seems if it’s not under warranty it’s not worth repairing

We’ll try this BEFORE we try replacing the ir board next week. I’ll let you know if it worked.

I've sent you an email with LOTS of phone numbers, and perhaps there's a helpful number in there somewhere.

If you DO find someone helpful, I'd appreciate knowing what the humber or URL is.

Thanks and best of luck!

Ernie

* UPDATE *
We went out today. First we tried unplugging all HDMI's and Ethernet (per Brent's suggestion), still no IR working. Unplugged for 10 minutes, still a no go. Then we replaced the IR sensor on the TV with Samsung part. Still had no IR response!!
So, set it up for IP control via URC TC system. After set up it's working fine via IP control. I'm a little worried if the Samsung loses the "token" between URC.
How's your experience with Samsung's via IP? Ever lose it's connection?
I'm still wondering if I have any other options to try and make the IR work again......

i've only had issues when the customer finger fooks the menu settings.  other than that, urc ip control has been pretty solid, and I work on boats, so the tvs lose power all the time.

Random thought...

Is there something in the hospitality settings or service menu that would disable IR?
