Customer has an LG 65c9 Oled connected to Sonos Playbar via toslink. He's older and wants headphones. I'd normally use Senheisser with toslink connection but toslink output is being used for Playbar. Will I have problems if I use a toslink splitter?

I'd like to avoid using bluetooth - he's older and I don't want to deal with connection issues.

I just found these sony headphones that have an ARC connection. [Link: sony.com]
Should solve my problem. Toslink to Playbar, ARC to headphones.

So the next question - does the LG output ARC and Toslink simultaneously?

I've split with a toslink splitter many times. No issues for me.

Thanks. I'm gonna try the Sonys w/ ARC. I'll bring a toslink splitter with me so I have another option

I've done an identical setup multiple times without issue using Sennheiser RS175 headphones

Following up:
I installed these sony headphones: [Link: sony.com]
They worked perfectly and sound great. ARC works better than expected - turn on headphones and the TV switches to ARC audio. Turn off headphones or place on charging cradle and the TV reverts back to toslink connection to soundbar. Couldn't be happier.

So both can't be active simultaneously?

I've had older clients in the past who watched TV together this way.  Her listening to TV speakers and him using headphones.

These headphones have toslink, hdmi(arc) and analog inputs. If the client wanted the soundbar and headphones active at the same time, I could've split the TVs toslink and sent to soundbar and headphones. But in this case, the functionality is exactly what the client wanted and it works automagically.

Nice!  Those sound like the current go-to headphones to cover every scenario.
