Nope. It doesn't have discretes for inputs, either. The 510 series comes up in the Harmony database as an Amazon Fire TV and it does have discretes for power and inputs for $40 more.

Thanks need a tv that will fit in a lift no more than 35” wide. This looks like the only one. Anyone have the actual discrete codes or know where I can get them? Thanks.

Codes for the 510 series? I saw them on Harmony's list- I would have to think URC and RTi SHOULD have them. The $129 TV doesn't have discretes for power or inputs. as I wrote before.

How are you planning to control it?

This seems like the occasional situation that we face when an old cabinet designed for a specific 4:3 TV needs a TV upgrade and a 16:9 in that space looks bad and the screen seems small for the viewer.

What we need is a folding screen (a large folding cellphone) on a pull out mount. With this sort of scheme we could mount TV's in all sorts of interesting places. Another scheme could be a micro short throw projector and folding passive screen on a pull out.

He has a Control4 system. I will check the driver database to see if there is a driver. If anyone knows of one, please let me know.

Thanks.

I wrote that I saw the commands in the Harmony database first post- like them or not, their database is more complete than anyone elses'. Might be a good idea to buy one of their cheap remotes, just to get the codes, even if you won't sell them.

Thanks highfigh. I wrote to insignia to see if they will pass along the codes. I'm guessing there is no access to the harmony database besides buying a remote?

Control4 can track power state with a toggle code... do you really need to change inputs?

In a situation like this, I would just explain that there are some limitations when you compromise for dimensions. Give them a power button and an input button if they do get out of sync for some reason.

The tv is going in a lift in the bedroom and has 3 separate inputs, so we need discrete control for hdmi1,2&3, volume up/down and power on/off. It's a tough spot for us and we made the client aware. He knows we will try our best to make it work. It's not an ideal situation at all, but something we do for great clients. I would never use an insignia, but we have little choice.

Use a HDMI switcher with discretes. that Insignia doesnt have 3 HDMI inputs anyway.

I have no experience with the set, but if there is something that you could monitor, such as a status light or switched USB port, you could have absolute control over the TV power. A risky strategy would be to monitor the TV’s power draw. I don’t feel warm and fuzzy about this scheme using the current triggers that I have seen on the market because the switching threshold needs to be very sharply defined.

Since the set is so cheap, you could open the set to pull out and detect a voltage. This will void the warranty, but replacing the set would be cheaper than fussing with a warranty repair.
