We have a couple of Sony BluRays that we would like to control through a Crestron system. Could someone tell me where in the Bluray settings that this can be done?

If it is the new UBP-800X-M2, Sony disabled the IP control.
if it is the UBP800X, then it works by default.

Fairly certain that ip control on that model is not possible. Perhaps the person who supplied it to you can confirm that?

here is the email I received from tech support:
Hi John, The UBPX800 models have never supported IP control. They are consumer players. The only models that support IP control are the UBPX1000ES and UBPX1100ES. Control 4 and URC has tried to hack the 800 models in the past. They do not work with IP control reliably. Not designed for it.

We have controlled 3700 and 6700 models via IP reliably with both control 4 and elan. The 700 and 800 both work also. 800m2, they must have changed something. I have not tried it personally but I hear it will not work.

Are there any other brands in the consumer range that work with IP?

the 800M2 is the only Sony BR I've run into int he past 8-10 years that does not support IP control.
There may have been a cheapy $79 player I vaguely recall as well... under $100, I wouldnt expect or care to be honest...
I've controlled the 700 and the 6700 in recent memory though..

We use IP to control Sony players all the time with C4. Usually the 700 & 800, but several older models also. Not sure where some of the others who posted got their info from.

I got this info from trying to control it and confirming with tech support that it won't work.
