I typically use Netgear Prosafe dumb switches and have never had any issues. I now need a rock solid 48 port switch (no POE), and see the Netgear GS748T 48 port smart switch for $260 on Amazon. This seems suspiciously inexpensive.

Any comments on this as a main switch for a residential project with no VLANs?

Any recommendations for a rock solid 48 port non-POE switch in general? I don’t particularly need any smart features, but I welcome anything that would make monitoring and troubleshooting easier. Client is pretty friendly to spending what’s necessary for reliable operation.
If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.

We used Netgear prosafe for years. I have some that are a decade old still working fine. As our projects got bigger the IT portion was handled by the clients person IT team. We handle all the hardware and cable install and they handle configuration & management. These are the two brands that have been used. Both have been solid.

Juniper EX Series
HP Procurve...now Aruba

Lower end projects get Snap Araknis.

I’ve used araknis in the past. In most projects they have been fine but a few times they were the problem
My current preferred switch is ubiquity.

I've yet to have an issue using Araknis switches. I usually use the managed ones but they've never let me down.

I’ve seen them strip out vlan tags and their support couldn’t figure out why
