I have a customer who is using a Sharpvision XVZ-7000u with a Niles intellicontrol. The projector doesn't have any discrete power commands, so we are using a Niles APC-2 current draw sensor to sync it for power status. The problem we are having is this: when the projector has been shut down for long periods of time,(i.e. overnight) it will not respond to the power commands sent by the Intellicontrol, yet it will power up using it's original remote. However, after it is initially used and warmed up, it responds perfectly to all commands including input and power commands delivered by the Intellicontrol. Any ideas? We have tried using the new Xantech IR/RS232 adaptor as a more reliable means of controlling the projector rather than IR, but have no luck with that either. Has anybody out there ever used one of these things? We are also newbies to RS-232 in general.
Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks

Have you tried the codes that are found on this website via a pronto or other programmable reomtes? Also, you may want to try an LS-1 Light sensor. The projector should have a light that turns on or green when the progector is turned on...I'd try that.
