Unless you have a reason to require IP technology, I would just use and HDCVI technology and get up to 4K resolution. They are typically less expensive and less of a network security issue. When you start use adapters, trouble shooting becomes much more difficult.

I concur. We are a commercial security group and 98% IP but with some of our legacy analog systems (especially a low camera density like you describe) it just makes sense to go with HDCVI. Looks great and cheap as hell. Compared to converting with IP over coax and then using a $600 AXIS camera.
