Roku has Miracast, and apparently the newer laptops have it as well.

My laptop i and older model that got an upgrade to Win 10 with a SSD, and it doesn't have Miracast.

Kinda sucks.

I just did this the other day for a client. The Sony has google cast built in. Anything opened in chrome can be cast to the tv natively. Just make sure both are on the same network

I sent my laptop to roku this morning messing around. Even used it as a split screen so 75” sony was 2nd monitor. Used a hp laptop running win10

Wait, was this a built-in option on your Windows laptop? I Automatically showed Roku as a secondary display option?

Newer laptops that came built as 8.1 and 10 supposedly have Miracast on the motherboard chipset.

Older upgrade laptops do not.

Tried yesterday onsite w/ Windows 10. Chromecast works - slight lag. Miracast/wireless display shows as an available connection but does not connect.

I wanted to bump this thread. Anyone have a new / current / exciting solution for laptop to TV in a conference room?

The last couple times I got into this, we just did Miracast, but it's been a while and I don't recall which dongles work best where...

Thanks,
Tom

Microsoft had a great/inexpensive wireless 4K adapter. Of course they killed it. Rumors of a replacement coming out later this year but who know.

Many TV/Displays can be casted to directly from your PC now. Not all of them and those that do work aren’t always a stable connection.

IOGEAR has a product I want to try but it’s currently on back order at CDW. [Link: cdw.com]

Barco may not be in the budget.

I'm skeptical with any wireless but has anyone tried the Key Digital?

I'm supporting a conference room that has virtually 100% Mac (they claim everything else is too hard to use). There is a ROKU in the system and it is relatively easy to screen share with the ROKU.

Then maybe take a look at the Vivitek Novo solution. It's the same concept at a lower price.
